The Golden Circle by car
🇮🇸 Þingvellir
The usual loop east of Reykjavík: Þingvellir, where the Almannagjá gorge runs along the edge of the North American plate and Iceland's parliament met in the open from 930; the Geysir field, where Strokkur erupts every few minutes; and Gullfoss, where the Hvítá drops in two steps into a canyon.
