# The class camp, written by the class. Read privately at home.

*Class camp · School week away · Ski camp*

Each evening two pupils write the day on the camp phone, without an account. You read and approve it, and only then it goes to the parents by email. No app, no chat group, nothing public.

*Example camp: the day arrives by email*

## The teacher stays in charge, the phones stay in the basket

*An evening in camp*

1. **Before the camp** Send the consent letter, mark children without photo consent, plan who writes which day.
2. **Pupils write** Two pupils per evening, on the camp phone, with a class code. Works without signal and sends later.
3. **You approve** Read, hide a photo, or send it back. About two minutes.
4. **Parents read** By email, privately. Nothing public, no chat group.

## A chat group or a public camp blog

*Instead of*

| | WhatsApp group | Public camp blog | Fernscout |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Who can see it | Everyone in the group, forwarded anywhere | Anyone, search engines | Only approved readers |
| Who approves | Nobody | The teacher, alone | Pupils write, teacher approves |
| Children without consent | Not visible | Manual | Flagged at approval |
| Afterwards | Scattered photos | Online forever | Kept for the period you set |

Works alongside Klapp or Schoolfox: send the invitation link through the channel your school already uses.

## In class

- Writing for a real audience: parents read what the pupils wrote.
- Media education in practice: which photos may go out, and why.
- Fits Lehrplan 21 (German, Media and Computer Science).

## What you need

- First names of the pupils and the parents' email addresses.
- One camp phone or tablet.
- We set up your first camp with you.

## Everything on one page

*For the school management and data protection*

- The school is the controller; Fernscout processes data on its behalf. A data-processing agreement is ready to sign.
- Data stored in Helsinki, Finland.
- No AI and no voice recordings on our servers; no data in the USA.
- You choose how long the camp is kept when you set it up (default: end of the next school year). Renew in one click; we remind you 30 days before.
- Children without photo consent are flagged; their photos are not sent.
- Only readers the teacher approved: parents, and up to two more per family.
- A consent letter template and a data-protection pack to forward.

## Costs, honestly

Free for the school. Every family gets the camp as a free PDF. A printed book is offered once, after the camp, and nobody has to buy anything for their child to take part. The school can switch the offer off. We earn from the printed books and postcards families choose to order.

## Questions

### Our camp has a phone ban.

Pupils write on one camp phone or tablet that stays with the teacher.

### There's no signal at the hut.

Days are saved on the phone and sent when there is signal.

### A text is unkind about a classmate.

Send it back to the pupils with a note; nothing goes out without your approval.

### Separated parents?

Invite both households.

### What if I leave the school?

The camp belongs to the school account, not to your private email.
