Day 9
🇺🇸 Monument Valley
12:30
Monument Valley in the wrong light
Arrived at midday, when the buttes are flat and grey and look like a postcard left in a window. Waited six hours and got the other version.
This is Navajo land, not a national park, and it is run entirely differently — better signposted about what you may not photograph.
21:15
The six hours were worth it
The light came back at about six and the place stopped looking like a postcard and started looking like the reason anybody drives out here at all.
Writing this from a plastic chair outside the room. Nothing photographable in the dark, so this one is only words.
How was this day?
